This is the story of Nonny Frett. She was born illegitimate in one family and was adopted by another family. Both families live in a small southern town and both families hate each other. Nonny is loyal to her adoptive family but she is pulled to her birth family in a way she does not understand. Add to that, a husband who has done her wrong and who she can’t seem to leave and a life long friend who has stolen her heart. This book grabbed me from the beginning and held me right up to the last word. Funny, heartwarming, entertaining read. I highly recommend.

This was a great book! By Chapter Two, I was embedded in Nonny's story, and I really enjoyed its twists and turns. Like acountkel, I also heartily recommend this book!

I enjoyed this book, and the way the story developed. I suppose in small towns feuds between people might simmer on and on for years. I thought Nonnie was a bit annoying at times, she didn't make decisions...and even when she did towards the end of the book I think they were slightly unrealistic.

This book was a real page turner. It grabbed me from less than 10 pages into it and didn't let go. While it was a rather common theme (somewhat modern day Hatfields vs. McCoys), the author did a good job of making some very different characters come to life. Thanks so much for sharing this book acountkel!
