All the blurbs about this book state how hilariously funny it is. If only half of it is true , then I think it makes depressing reading.

There were some parts in this book that were, if not hilarious, at least funny. But there was also a lot of depressing stuff.

Moore writes in the acknowledgements: "I hope you had a few good laughs. I hope it has inspired you to go and raise a ruckus. You are the only ones who are going to change things."
Nowadays there are far too many people who don't even bother to vote. If "Stupid White Men" makes you angry enough to go and vote, or do something else to change things, or just take notice of all the decisions politicians make, then this book has done its job.

On returning home from the east coast, I was surprised with this book in the mail. Thanks myntti! I've heard a lot about this book.....I was told that I would find it "disgusting", but nothing surprises me anymore, after all, I do live north of the border and everyone knows that Bush is NOT the Rhodes scholar that Clinton was!! Hope I get some good laughs!!
Sorry for the delay...just reading this now and plan to post and release it next week....I figure it will be scooped up fast for those not tired of hearing what an idiot George Bush is.
Ok...first off...this is not an intellectual romp about the state of the nation (USA); however, Michael Moore's artistic and provocative expression is worth some merit. I did find his mocking and sarcastic tone to grate on my nerves after the first few chapters. He has clearly put quite a lot of research into this piece and for those interested in how elitists run most nations it may even be depressing as others have written before me. Take it for what you get out of it...humour, shock, sarcasm, truths, whatever!
