Description from the back cover:

At St Oswald's, an old and long-established boys' grammar school in the north of England, a new year has just begun. For the staff and boys of the school, a wind of unwelcome change is blowing. Suits, paperwork and Information Technology rule the world, and Latin master, eccentric, and vereran of St Oswald's is finally - reluctantly - contemplating retirement.
But beneath the little rivalries, petty diputes and everyday crisis of the shcool, a darker undercurrent stirs. And a bitter grudge, hidden and carefully nurtured for thirteen years, is about to erupt.

It took a while for me to get into this one, but once it gets rolling, it draws the reader in and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere...BAM! a smack-in-your-face plot twist. I'm sure a fair amount of readers saw it coming, but it came out of nowhere for me. I then spent the rest of the book trying to get my head around that, and though parts seemed unbelievable, it was overall a pretty darned good read. It's also one of those that I think you need to read twice to totally appreciate and to catch all the subtleties that you missed the first time around.

Thanks again for the RABCK, Kerriou!
