A story told in the first person about politics in Pakistan and the U.S. after September 11th.
Released to a fellow bookcrosser! Now winging its way to New York
It has flown and been sitting, waiting to be read.
One of the best books I've read in years. From start to finish, Moshin Hamid drew me in with his first person conversation perspective. The issues dealt with, especially that of a Pakistani living in New York immediately following 9/11, gave me a new perspective on the issue. So often we forget that what happened on that day affected not only Americans, but also any person from Middle Eastern dissent that was trying to make a living working in New York. I shared in Hamid's anger and philosophy towards the United States, as I have understood the way American government and business attends to its affairs overseas. The only reason for my not giving the book a 10, is because I would have liked to read more about his feelings towards the stereotyping and racism he experienced during this time. I understand personally, but I felt many of his readers would not. Very well done Mr. Hamid and thank you. To be set free into the wild...
