Delightful. I truly could not put it down. I carried it with me from start to finish, sneaking in reading on trains, during lunch, here and there around the house during the morning rush and evening post-kids-to-bed chaos. A great, quick escape. The characters are all engaging, and somehow the "all-knowing narrator who speaks directly to the reader" works in this one.

Great book!!
Thank you so much for dropping it onto my desk. I've always heard Paul Auster is a good author. but I tried reading The New York Trilogy and Oracle Night, and just couldn't click with the books. Too dark, too strange, my mind couldn't stretch that far, and I didn't have the time to ponder its meanings...
The Brooklyn Follies on the other hand was great!! It started with a cynical touch, but then you truly start wanting to understand the characters. They all had faults, but weren't too kookie to not care about them. Thanks for the experience.

i'm dropping it off on Michi's desk:D Enjoy.
