A father & his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind. They have nothing; just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a cart of scavenged food - and each other.

Well, it was a rainy evening when I cam across THE ROAD. I Enjoyed a dinner filled with Asian LAger, Sake, and Sesame Chicken prior to running into this book on a mobile shelf at Myopic Books in Wicker Park, Chicago.

I wrote too many comments in this book to give it up. As a high school english teacher, these notes become precious. but, if i get another copy, maybe i will transfer the notes to keep the book travelling. This book keeps on heading back to Myopic in Wicker Park. Since I moved, maybe I will give it a new home.
