Loved the DVDs of the TV show; can't wait to read more about it.

Poor little book fell face down in the snow today. :( The last few pages of the Appendices are still recovering, but the majority of the book is A-OK.

I really enjoyed reading this book: first, because I love Ewan McGregor, and second, because not so long ago I rented the DVDs of the TV series this is based on and thoroughly enjoyed them. I like the idea of truly experiencing different cultures by stopping and taking a look around, and understanding that people all over the world live differently but care about the same things--love, family, security. It seems a much better use of time than hopping on a cruise ship or sticking to tourist destinations. The adventure is in the journey. Makes me want to hop in my car, start driving, and see where the road takes me.
