The Book of Air and Shadows is a rather grand title - and tackles an evener grander subject; Shakespeare's 'Lost' Play. You can feel Gruber is trying to emulate the Dan Brown-esque whodunnit whichhas become popular of late, but for me it never quite rings true: he's trying to be too clever, and events don't flow naturally from one to the other. Some of the surprise twists could have been picked out by a 3 year old, BUT I bought this mainly to keep me amused on a 27 train journey (Derby-Krakow) and it fulfilled this function admirably.
