Caught at tonight's meetup in Boston.

Although this brings the number of Tom Robbins books on my shelves to three, I've still never read anything by this author. But I've heard that he's great, and I'm eager to see what these books are like.

Thank you!

The Middle Ages hangs over history's belt like a beer belly. It is too late now for aerobic dancing or cottage cheese lunches to reduce the Middle Ages. History will have to wear size 48 shorts forever. --p 154

The genius here is how this author shows, in ways that are fantastically new, that one thing is like another thing. The metaphors are perfectly novel and perfectly apt. So much fun to read.
