Enjoyed the heck out of about the first third of the book, right up to the time he gets out of rehab. Then something happens. A kind of heaviness that feels at odds with the first part of the book. To be sure, this is a weighty subject and tough to pull off with any kind of humor, but Burroughs seems to lose some of the comic-tragic mania that colored the first part of the book. And made it so compelling.
