This is a classic Science fiction novel, from 1974, by two authors in the top of their field.
Mankinds first contact w/ an alien species. The species alien in physiology as well as psychology. this book is one I have read many times over, and thank god their is a sequel, written by the same two authors 20 years later... and it too is a scifi classic.
