Quite fun, though not brilliant. The story is part mystery, part coming of age story. Maisy Dobbs, the young maid and daughter of a costermonger, is intellectually nurtured by her employer and her friend. Eventually landing a Cambridge on scholarship only to have her studies interupted by the Great War. The story begins with her opening her own investigation agency ten years after the war. A multitude of minor mysteries and one major one develop.
