Although I generally love Alexander McCall Smith, this serial novel is uniformly uninteresting. I am not going to finish it.

I bookmooched (bookmooch.com) this book & was interested to see that it had already been around. Now that I've finished it, I'm sending it back out in the world.

Alexander McCall Smith's books are good therapy. In my case, the therapy was to help get over the financial-shock of having a business returned to me--I business I don't want (had to foreclose) and one that required that we temporarily leave our home in Florida, park our poor old cat at our daughter's, and hit the ground running to learn in short order all about successfully running a gas station/country store. One man's dream is another man's nightmare. Alexander McCall Smith helps put all the nonsense in perspective.

I hope the next reader gets pleasure in the same doses I did; however, WARNING: it's not as gentle and kind as the #1 Ladies Detective series books--it is an unchallenging, chatty, voyeuristic look into several character's lives in edinburgh...
