Drowning Ruth (Oprah's Book Club)

I am not normally one for Oprah's Book Club, but I found this book at a used bookstore and it looked like a quick, gripper of a read.
This story centers around a drowning that happened in the winter of 1919.
Strong character development keeps you turning the page.
I bought this book in Tucson, Arizona, at a used bookstore... Bookmans. At the moment I am drinking a glass of merlot (Gato Negro) out of a red plastic glass.
I am sitting at the kitchen table. Ernie (namesake of Ernest Hemingway) keeps me company as she sits at eye level. She is unnaturally affectionate toward me.
Olive trees and palm trees grow outside. Yuccas and cacti are plentiful.
Desert coyotes are pretty.
Mountains are all around me - the sun is HOT.

Sent to me by a friend...and passing it along to my daughter.
