The first girl had a bite mark on her neck but the traced the DNA to her boyfriend. Then the tabloids got hold of the story and called the killer "The Rottweiler" and the name stuck.

Normally I like Ruth Rendell's books, but this one was boring and somehow rather unrealistic.
I didn't like the main characters and could not agree with lots of their movements and behavior. I felt sorry for Becky and her handicapped nephew, but still I do not think, that she should have give in.

In the end I was happy to have reached the end, knowing now The Rottweiler and how the story ends, but I wouldn't have missed anything, if I hadn't read it.
