I'm not sure when this ring will start, I have to read the book first. :-) But I thought I would start the list of who is interested in it now. I would say that this should go out in the next month.

How the bookring works:

* Someone will PM you for your address, PM them back and provide your address

* When you receive the book, please make a journal entry letting everyone know that you received it

* Put the book at the top of your TBR pile (under other rings/rays that arrived first)

* Read the book (take your time and enjoy the book, don't feel rushed to finish it)

* When the end is in sight, check the book's journal and PM the next person to get their address

* Finish the book, make another journal entry and let everyone know what you thought of the book

* Send the book to the next person on the list (please use the cheapest shipping method available), make release notes (Controlled Release) or journal entry to let everyone know that it's in the mail

* At the end of the ring, last person please pm Liz-z for address and mail back.

Just finished reading this. Although I didn't find it as enjoyable as the first three books it was entertaining and wrapped up the stories of all the girls nicely. This will begin traveling in a ring shortly.

It has been a fun journey following these 4 girls into young adulthood. I enjoyed the way things came full circle in this book.

Thanks, liz-z, for sharing this great series with us! I'll get this in the mail to Bluestocking88 this week.

UPDATE 8/07: Sorry for the delay. This was put in the mail today finally!

I found myself skimming though large sections of this book for some reason. It was nice to see things get wrapped up in this book, but I have to agree it wasn''t nearly as good as the others. If I had read this book first, I doubt I would have read the other three. I''ll mail this off to ced6 on Monday.

Spoiler below:

This book should have been titled the virginity-discarding summer of the sisterhood. Maybe I''m getting old, but I didn''t really understand why there was so many sexual experiences in this book. I didn''t see how it added much, it didn''t help the girls at all, and it wasn''t much of a reward for any of the three that waited all these years. We''ve been hearing about Lena the modest, Carmen the cautious, and Tibby the not ready--I didn''t see how sex was a cure for these traits.

I also didn''t like what I am seeing as a pattern for Bee--she (again!) seems attracted to an unavailable male authority figure. Eric was her coach the first year, and committed to a different girl the next time she saw him, and now a married man? I was glad to see her put some effort in her dad and brother, but where have they been the last three books? Did I miss something about Bee--she was the athlete but now she''s on an archeological dig--I would have expected her to get a job working at a soccer training camp somewhere.

I felt Brashares was reaching for a plot for this book that would close the series, it seemed a little forced. It all started off as a great story about three girls that made mistakes but were generally girls you could be proud of. There were large sections of this particular book that brought that into question for me.

Just picked it up from the campus post office! I felt so special walking to my dorm with my package :)
Shouldn't take too long, then I'll send both the third and this one to lovestoreadinmo!

I am slightly sad that this series is at an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of these girls' lives.

Sorry it took so long. This and the third book will be sent out, hopefully tomorrow to lovestoreadinmo.

Thanks for these bookrings, liz-z, I've had a lot of fun reading these awesome books!

I have already read this book so I'll try to send it off next week sometime.
I read my local library's copy while waiting for it to come to me.

I've had the book for entirely too long and I apologize to the person who started the ring and to others who are waiting. Real life got in the way of reading and I still haven't read this book. It looks like it will be a good read, but one that I'll pick up from the library in order to keep other from waiting any longer.

Got it!

I love this series.
What wonderful books. I only hope that when my daughter is old enough, she reads and loves them, too (she's only 2 now...LOL).
I thought the sexuality was handled realistically and quite well. Obviously the jet-setting girls lead a life that most teens don't, but their reactions to everything are pretty genuine. I loved the way it all wrapped up for them.
Thanks Liz!

I thought you guys might be interested to know, in August they are releasing the second movie of the Traveling Pants. From the preview it appears to be mainly a combination of books 3 and 4. There's a trailer up on Yahoo.
