The Master

I found myself strangely haunted by this book days after I finished it. Toibin's evocation of Henry James is written beautifully in the style of "the Master" himself and ones feels as if one is hearing of James' life as he would have written it. Highly recommended.

I found this completely absorbing when it began, but its depiction of James became less and less convincing.
