Synopsis
This is the first in a series of four novels for children, illustrated by Douglas Carrell. A whole new cache of Dr. Drake books has been discovered. Previously written off as fantasy adventures of the more far-fetched kind, new evidence suggests that there was more to the eminent dragonologist Dr. Drake than met the eye. In these books, readers can follow his adventures through a lifetime of searching for and studying dragons.

Ooh, perfect timing - I've recently been given Dr Drake's guide to raising young dragons, so I can understand those bits of this story better! Thank you so much!

WistfulDragon has kindly donated this book to the Convention (after reading it three times!)as it starts off in London, and the books for the goody bags will have a London theme. Whoever gets this one will be very lucky indeed! Many thanks to littleLutrus.

I picked this up at the BookCrossing Convention in London.

The blurb doesn't look promising, but as I said to WistfulDragon, I would take a book with a title like this regardless. Fortunately Wistful recommends it...

For the moment, this will add to Mount TBR's stability problems :-)

(I must say I don't like the hybrid word Dragonology though. Dragonlore is the English word, Dracology the classical (Latin/Greek) word.)

I enjoyed reading this - and even looking up the knucker in a book of dragonlore - but it didn't really satisfy. The plot was a bit predictable, and the Victorian setting was enough like Lemony Snicket to be a bit offputting.

Perhaps the best part of the book was the illustrations. Some very good dragon drawings!

I'd better let my mother read this before I release it.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

We wandered around hut circles, stone rows and a stone circle on the south side of the road, and left the book at the base of a tall, thin standing stone.
