This book reminds me of "Desperate Housewives" - it is about Kate, a suburb mom that is having trouble adjusting to the fact that she now lives in a huge home in the burbs w/ 3 babies. She always seems to be the odd-woman-out in the neighborhood. When one of the other moms gets murdered, Kate takes it upon herself to do some detective work to find out whodunnit - against the advice of her husband and local cops. I've read a few books by Jennifer Weiner (after seeing her on the Today show), and I haven't been disappointed yet. This is a good mix between a simple read about love and family, with a little bit of mystery thrown in.

Jennifer Weiner's sense of humor is great. This was a great book, filled with the angst of a suburban housewife who doesn't fit in with the supermommies. It revolves around the mystery of who murdered a neighbor (and why), but is so much more than that. As stated on one website, "In Goodnight Nobody, Jennifer Weiner brings together two compelling tales---an engrossing murder mystery and a poignant story about one woman's quest to save her sanity and sense of self amidst the challenges of motherhood, marriage, and suburbia." I really enjoyed this book.

This was a fun mix of humor and mystery. Kate's devil-may-care friend, Janie, cracked me up. She's the kind of friend you definitely want in your corner! My only complaint was the ending...but I'll leave it at that. ;)
