The Long Goodbye
2 journalers for this copy...
Philip Marlowe stars in this case that "boasted a fifty-year-old bottle baby, his peaches 'n' cream spouse, a psychopathic gangster, and an unequal number of murders and corpses."
Sent solittletime, it's a good book, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I finally got a chance to read The Long Goodbye and I enjoyed it very much. Chandler was such a writer! One of my favorite paragraphs:
The plot had enough twists to keep anyone happy and I didn't guess the final twist until it was spelled out to me.
This is a very old paperback and, although it's in good condition, I think it might fare better on an OBCZ shelf than out in the really-wild world. I plan to release it soon at one of our 2 local OBCZs.
Thanks again, ThanksMom.
The white-haired lad said politely: "Awfully sorry, but I don't have it [his convertible] anymore. I was compelled to sell it..."
"Sold it, darling? How do you mean?" She slid away from him along the seat but her voice slid away a lot farther than that.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
RELEASE NOTES:
I released this book at the Official BookCrossing Zone at Lily's Coffee and Tea in Pepperell Square, Saco. It was released in memory of Danny Clune, as it felt as though we all had to say a Long Goodbye to him from when he became missing until the sad mystery of his disappearance was solved.
Please make a journal entry to let me know that this book has been caught so I know that it has found a good home with you. If you are new to BookCrossing, when you register please indicate that you were referred by solittletime. I hope that you enjoy the book. You can make another journal entry with your comments when you are done reading.
Then, when you are ready to send it on its way, make a journal entry if you are giving or sending this book to a known person, or a release note if you are leaving it “in the wild” again for anyone to catch. Then watch its journey. You’ll be alerted by e-mail each time someone makes another journal entry. And it’s confidential (no one is ever given your real name or e-mail address) and free.
I hope that you will enjoy the BookCrossing experience!
