Purchased at Goodwill in Garland, TX.

From the dustjacket: Originally published under the pseudonym Brian Coffey, here is a spine-tingling thriller from the best-selling author of Cold Fire and The Bad Place.

Colin can't believe his good fortune. The shy, skinny, brainy and bespectacled 14-year-old had long grown accustomed to being unpopular. Yet after moving to the tranquil California beach town of Santa Leona, Colin is befriended by Roy, the town's popular, handsome, golden boy. They become blodd brothers and promise to be friends forever.

Then one day Roy asks Colin: "You ever killed anything?" And from that moment on, the two are bound together in a game too terrifying to imagine...and too irresistible to stop.

This was a fast-paced story, easy to read in a single sitting. Colin finds his first friend in Roy, despite that fact that, early in their friendship, Roy tells him some pretty horrific things. Colin, believing it is just a game, is grateful to finally have, not just a friend, but a blood brother. What follows is teen peer pressure at its worst...
