Seeking refuge from the pain of a collapsed marriage, Anne Davis returned to Salt Whistle Road. There, she hoped to find solace in the old house that always symbolized security and love. As a fire raged through the house and was about to engulf what little comfort she had left, Anne raced back into the inferno to rescue something more precious than life itself. It was an act that gave birth to a miracle, and, for Anne, a new life.

These sorts of books have the opportunity to go one of two ways. Either it'll be an overdrawn emotional sappy piece of mush.. or it will be thoughtful and realistic. I'm pleased to say that this definitely belongs in the latter category.
I did find the relationship between Maggie and Ned to be a bit sweet, considering all that went on, but otherwise, it came out nicely.

Yay! This was a surprise that came with a RABCK from one fantastic bookcrosser. Thank you!!
And, since I've been having computer issues, I've already read it and Happy to Agree with her assessment. I was wary, very wary of this book. They so often go wrong. But it didn't. I was happy for all involved, well maybe not one guy-but he got what he deserved so phooey on him. (no, i don't mean kurt).
I was even considering looking for another of her books, but work killed that idea. I (lucky me) work retail and apprently in my store Luanne Rice's new book Sandcastles is the annoyance, I mean book, of the month. Overhead ad for it seemingly every 15 minutes. Driving me crazy. Plus, the vague description sounds kinda like this one so I'm thinking, formula? Maybe if I happen across one at Gullivers in the 5 for $3 bin when I need a 5th, but that ad has been a disservice.

I will be wild releasing this in about 2 hours. It will not be in the break room at work as originally planned, rather in the Women''s Locker room at the Student Rec Center(gym) on the UAF campus. I will also be leaving "Wilderness of Mirrors" by Linda Davies. Both of these books came to me as RABCK''s(random act of bookcrossing kindness) from generous bookcrossers. Thank you.
