Paullina Simons tells good stories, but I just dont feel she writes all that well.

TULLY is over 600 pages in length. I feel it could have had the same impact if it were only 300 pages in length. At first I was really enjoying the book, but by the time I'd reached page 400 or so I just couldnt wait for it to be over.

The main character, Tully, whom I liked at first, ended up seeming nothing more than selfish and whingey. I found her to be very self-involved and wallowing in her self-pity. Unfortunately, I cannot determine if this was Simons' intention or not.

However, Simons does tell a good story, despite taking a hell of a long time to do so.
I recommend this book because (a) it starts really, really well, and (b) it turns out the way I'd hoped it to.

"...I would slowly free my head out of the loop. I'd take a deep breath. The air would smell so clean, so cool - air after rain. And I would lick my wounds, grateful to myself that I found a way to go on another day. I never wanted to die, you see. I just wanted to live a little better".

--> On it's way to Bjorg, Iceland, as part of RABCK.

First of all, I´m so sorry that the book has with me for this long!!! *blushing* Don´t know why I kept putting it back in the TBR pile but now I have finally read it and I even took it with me all the way to Trinidad and Tobago:)
I must say this book was a great surprise, I really liked it. Not that I thought it would be bad but it was much better then I thought it would be:)
I agree with sorcha-sidhe, I really liked Tully´s character at the beginning of the book but towards the end I did not like her much.

Sorry again for keeping the book so long, will get it moving soon:)
