As an Anne Rice lover I held high hopes for this book, and it did not disappoint! I did not expect the main character to be a teen (albeit a very mature teen), but the book held my interest nonetheless. It was romantic, exciting, and original. It would be easy for an author to pick up the already accepted caricature of the modern vampire, but Meyer resisted that temptation and created a creature just as compelling. Don't miss this one!
