Welcome to Bookcrossing! If you're the lucky finder of this book, please know this little book is on a traveling mission to boldly go where few books have gone before. Its previous owners have set it free to (hopefully) share the story within with as many people as possible. If you are the current owner, please read and enjoy! Don't be afraid of sharing the story with others too! Read and release to keep this book's journey going strong. Please take a moment and leave your own message about this book as well! Let's see how many people this little book can find during its travels. Thanks in advance, and happy reading!

I love this book for several reasons: perhaps its the time period the book takes place, or maybe it's the "rags to riches" plot that lures me every time; however, it's a great american classic and I'm so happy to have copies of this book to register on bookcrossing! I was at a used book sale at my local library and they had 5 brand new copies for sale for a quarter each! I figured this was the perfect opportunity to share this story with five random people across the land. Hopefully, those five will continue to share this story with five more people, to create a vast network of Gatsby goodness. This particular copy you're holding is 2/5 and I hope you're able to giveit a good home while you read it. Please pass it on when you're done so the story may continue its traveling. Therefore, without any more delays, I hope this book finds you doing quite well on your path in life and continues to bring you good times, great memories and amazing adventures! HAPPY READING!!!

It's been awhile since I have read this book, and reading it again was wonderful. Fitzgerald's writing alone is incredibly beautiful. The characters, even though I don't always understand or like them, are haunting and unforgettable. I think I enjoy most of all the way Fitzgerald uses Nick to narrate while attempting, per his father's advice, not to criticize too much. This creates a moral freedom that allows us to appreciate every character instead of being bogged down by our judgments. Watching the dreams of characters fall apart is very heartbreaking, but that won't stop us from continuing to, as Nick says at the end of the book, "stretch out our arms farther" in the hopes that we will eventually reach our own aspirations (189). It's amazing how the book shows us a time in American history gone by while at the same time showing us certain human qualities or circumstances that are eternal. Thanks for the book. I'm not sure where I should set it free...
