I've read everything so far in this series, but this is the only book I own. Albert is a semi-local author who does well both in fiction and non-fiction. The series parallels (very) loosely the author's own career change and landing of a mate. I always look forward to the new titles in this series, and hope to also get into those she writes with her husband (as Robin Paige).

From the cover:
Former big-city lawyer China Bayles worked hard to make her Texas herb shop, Thyme and Seasons, a success. Now business is booming at her charming new tea room, Thyme for Tea--but China is too distracted to revel in her latest entrepreneurial triumph. When she's not trying to spend time with her new husband and stepson, she's worrying about her best friend Ruby, who just hasn't been herself lately. To further complicate matters, China has to round up a supply of mistletoe, the season's most popular herb. It seems an easy enough task--until her chief supplier turns up dead.

HOORAY!!!! I had all but given up on this one... the post office was good and delivered it in good shape, just a little late... The zip code was incorrect... maybe the previous person's from a printout? It is safe and in line to be read now... I am reading "Witches' Bane" right now and I just love the characters! Thanks again, marinaw and I hope that move is going well ;)!!

This was definitely the season to read this mystery! I stayed up late finishing it the other night and it was well worth it... I guessed what was up with Ruby almost immediately, but the mystery of Carl Swenson's hit and run kept me guessing. This was prime China Bayles. I'm reading "Bloodroot" right now (and not enjoying it as much) and will pass both along soon to new readers! Have a great Mistletoe Season, marinaw!!!
