Purchased at Angus & Robertson, Pitt Street, Sydney during an Ester trip from NZ. Fairly typical Kate Brannigan tale which I enjoyed, as usual. Part of a 75% off sale so I was pleased to find it.

I picked this up over beautiful Lindt dark hot chocolate at the mini-meet in Sherlockfan's (& Mr Sherlock fan's) honour. Look forward to reading this soon. Lovely to meet you Sherlockfan, see you again in Melbourne (perhaps).

Not a bad read, took me a little while but once I got into it I was quite keen to get to the bottom of the missing conservatory mystery. Probably not in the same league as Janet Evanovich but enjoyable nonetheless.

Thanks for sharing sherlockfan, will find a new home for this soon.

The plot of this book could have been quite interesting but it was spoiled by the narration. The narrator of the story (told in the first person) is what Aussies call a 'whinging Pom'. She seems to find fault with anything and everything and, along with her boyfriend, does nothing but complain the whole way through. I found this extremely annoying and it distracted me from the storyline. I doubt I'll be reading anything else by this author.

Thanks, fairy-whispers!

Happy New Year. I'm sorry to have been so long in journalling this book, but we've been away over the silly season. Thanks for the great bookmarks, and your card!

I have read some of this author's work, but not the Kate Branigan character. I'm curious to see what it's like. I find some McDermid's murders far too nasty to want to read.

I finished this on the plane flying back into Melbourne on Saturday, and I left it at the airport. I hope it will turn up again somewhere in a bookcrosser's hands.

I do have to say that it wasn't the most gripping book I've ever read, but it was good in-flight reading.
