I went to a talk about writing held by this author, and she was interestng and very funny. She gave me a copy of her book and I promised her that I'd send it out in a ring to let others in Bookcrossing Ireland read it, so, it's being passed on to the first person this morning. Enjoy!!

This is one of those slices of life books that depict Ireland between two ages. Not really my mileage but quite readable. Two generations of women find out things about the men in their lives.

It's a good read, don't get me wrong, it just wasn't me. It has sweet moments of 1980's school days, which I remember. But really it could have been any time between the 1950's and 1980's. I remember more slippage of opinion at that time. And a bit less awe about nuns.

Interesting and I would read more by this author but not really the kind of thing I'd hunt up.

Enjoyable read - reminds me that there are few villages in Ireland without some sort of "village secret" which unless told will die with the secret holders. Should secrets be kept and allow remain just as old fairy stories and rumours or should they be told and allow the truth to come out? If truth is told will some people be hurt by it, or if secrets held will they then in turn by hurt by the whispers and rumours? My thoughts - truth always comes out in the end and secrets only hurt people in the long run!

This book will now posted back to Kaz for her to send on to next reader. 23.April 2007

finished this last week sometime. I took it with me on a short holiday break and found it to be an enjoyable holiday read, nothing too taxing on the brain so perfect for relaxing!

I'll find out who is next on the list and send it on.

Caught at the Dublin meet and release walk in the Chester Beatty Library.
I couldn't help myself and ended up reading some of it on the train on the way down - it's absolutely gripping, and I'm looking forward to the rest!

It wouldn't be my usual type of book, but I just couldn't put it down! An enjoyable read, and one I'd recommend to others, but I think I'd enjoy her comic fare a bit better.
Will pass it on to the next reader when I find out who that is!
