The first in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, who infuses his work with a sense of an imaginative and adventerous world. The Redwall series is a romp through a world populated by animals who act like humans, with action primarily focusing on Redwall Abbey, inhabited by mice, badgers, hares, and the like. I have always especially loved his feast scenes – they seem to go on for pages and always make my mouth water! A wonderful challenging book for older children and young teens, and a good read for adults as well. I've been hanging on to this copy since I was twelve, so I believe it's time to set it free!
