Not your typical Ruth Rendell (or Barbara V for that matter!) and worth reading for that fact alone!

It was a very interesting tale... not quite a mystery, yet, at least one crime is solved and others exposed. Thank god, I've seen at least two episodes of 1940 house otherwise I might never have been able to fully enjoy the flashback settings.

I don't want to do any spoilers, but I do want to say that I'm the type of person that reads sex into everything... like I expected Vera to turn out to be Eden's mother or Vera and Francis having an affair. So, it's somewhat ironic that the one bit of twisted sex going on under my nose (and the narrator) actually turned out to be completely and totally out of left field and everything else just my fevered imaginings.

There appears to be something interesting happening on Aaron Dr. in Manahawkin, NJ today. Livenez25 just left 15 books there. I'm bringing this book there and see if its the kind of thing I might want to leave this book at. Maybe I can swap or something. Or maybe its just a yard sale.

Well, it's a nice day for a drive down the shore, in any case.

Released on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at PebbleBeach Laundromat, Hwy. 9, on bench inside in Barrington, New Jersey USA.

Well... Manahawkin was a bust. It must have been some sort of private release, I guess. Anyhoo... laundry is boring so hopefully this book will help someone ease the time as things are tumbled dry.

By the way, it's a nice clean landromat with a huge bulletin board. I like that. Laundry's are nice when they are little community centers and don't smell like a dry cleaners, y'know?
