3 journalers for this copy...
THis was a Christmas gift from my sister. It was wonderful! I was sad to see it end!
This is a book I've heard a lot about! Thanks for sharing it with me. I'll write more after I finish it.

RELEASE NOTES:
This has been on my Wishlist for quite a while now. Thanks, debnance, for sending it to me.
Perhaps this book suffered from too much hype and couldn't live up to all its acclaim, but for whatever reason, I just didn't enjoy it. In fact, I struggled to finish, but kept plugging away since other people had gushed over what a great book it was. I thought, 'maybe the ending is incredible?' and kept reading. Nope.
I liked the beginning. I had high hopes. The story of Charlie and Isabelle was intriguing. But I was not as fascinated with the twins concept, nor the actual twins, as the narrator was. And I was really irritated with the constantly changing narration between Vida and Margaret.
I think this book tried much too hard to be literary. It wanted to be a gothic tale in the same vein as 'Jane Eyre' and 'Wuthering Heights.' It wanted to be cute and encompass fairy tales; elements of those were sprinkled throughout. But it didn't work for me.
