The New York Trilogy: City of Glass, Ghosts and Locked Room

I'm reading this at the moment, and will bookcross (not sure how yet) once it's finished. I've read the first two parts and am taking a break before part three. So far, I'm not exactly enjoying it, but the writing is good.

I've just reached the end of The New York Trilogy and am feeling both baffled and exhilarated. The book is clever and well-written, but very confusing. Auster is playing games with the reader; sometimes I felt like a participant in his games, but sometimes I was only an observer. The issues of identity (and identity crisis) made it hard to get to know any of the characters - and although this was clearly the intention, I found it stopped me connecting with the novel fully. I liked the questioning and uncertainty, but found it unsettling.
I'll post the book this afternoon by surface mail. I hope it doesn't take too long to arrive, and that you enjoy it, KarenZero!

Arrived safely!! Thanks for sharing it, Nell-Lu.
This one was on my wishlist so I am looking forward to reading it. The only other book I've read by Auster is "Leviathan" but I enjoyed it.
Thanks again!
