THE END (SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS)
2 journalers for this copy...

The Baudelaire orphans and Count Olaf, who escaped to sea in a boat at the end of book 12, are shipwrecked on a coastal shelf. The islanders lead a simple but happy life on this faraway island, safe from the troubles and treacheries of the world. Could the orphans be safe at last, or are there secrets and dangers even here?
In this last book, the story of the Baudelaire orphans comes to an end. Some mysteries are resolved, but many more remain. The ending of the book still feels like a good conclusion though, as the author points out that since the lives of people overlap, life itself has no definitive ending. The end of book 13, however, is not quite the end, as an extra chapter (chapter 14, or Book the Last) holds the real ending to the series. The author has hinted that the Baudelaires may return one day, and I hope that they do.
