"Mine," he said.
Adam's Eyes narrowed. "I don't think so. She is mine."
It would have been flattering, I thought, except that at least one of them was talking about dinner.

Back cover:

Mercy Thompson’s sexy next-door neighbour is a werewolf.

She’s tinkering with a VW bus at her mechanic shop that happens to belong to a vampire.

But then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself…and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble

My Opinion: I loved this book. It’s witty, sassy and gripping. Hard to put down, once you started it with plenty of twists and turns…

Book arrived save and sound at the "Packstation" yesterday - thanks a lot for sending and "Ringing" the book. I picked it up about 0:30 this morning after arriving back from the very long train-rides to meet hoefi! This morning (ok it was about 12:00 I thought to just take a look bevor breakfast. The breakfast was at 16:00 after that thought. I´m on page 133 - very suspenseful and witty. I just have to ask myself why a werewolve worries about using bad language to a women...

Edith 22:56 (same day)
First book is read. I liked it quiet a lot. Very suspensful, as I said. It´s a very interesting setting! A world where always fae, werewolves, vampires, walkers, gohsts, deamons and who knows what else have existed. Humans don´t know that any more - but are about to find out, due to sience. The lesser fae have already come to the cameralight, and are beeing persecuted, stared at, outsiders ... now a lot of them live in reservations. The other non-humans didn´t reveal themselves yet, but due to the advances in science, they will have to come out of hiding, too soon. Mercy is a walker (meaning she can turn into a coyote - but not like a werewolve - that she has to at full moon or anything like that...)
As I said I liked the book a lot and luckyly I have part two here already!

Two wonderfull books on their way to Lytante. Thanks a lot for sharing these, Sao-Diego12548! I´m looking forward to the next part (due 2.01.2008 - "Iron Kissed" , amazon tells me ;-).

Das Buch ist schon ein paar Tage bei mir, entschuldigt den späten Eintrag.

EDIT 23.09: Loved the book and its successor. When I finally found the time to read the books I finished them during four days. Thanks for the ring!

Journal Entry 9 by quak from München, Bayern Germany on Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Arrived today. I'm already looking forward to read it :) Thanks for the Ring, Sao-Diego12548. And thanks for sending the books, Lytante.

Update 27.11.07: Wow! I loved the book and am eager to read the following one. For sure a series on which I will keep track. I was reading whenever I could during the last 3 days, because it is written really suspenseful. I like the fantasy-world that was created as it is really witty and I love the characters. I was positively surprised by some turns the plot took at the ending. It seems that the whole thing about werewolves and other preternatural creatures is thoroughly invented and researched. It seemed very plausible to me, what I appreciate a lot.
It's a book I will not forget and think it even possible to buy as I think it possible to read it again and again. Thanks for sharing that wonderful book, Sao-Diego12548!

Journal Entry 10 by mikani from Neunkirchen, Niederösterreich Austria on Monday, December 10, 2007
Got the book yesterday from quak and promptly started reading.

Update 27.12.2007: wonderfull books (I've already read the follwing one "Blood Bound" too - I simply couldn't stop after book one *g*). I really like the charakters and the setting (a modern world but with all those preternatural beings) ... and the unexpected twists in the story.

Journal Entry 11 by mikani from Neunkirchen, Niederösterreich Austria on Monday, December 31, 2007

Journal Entry 13 by rotewoelfin from Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Sunday, May 4, 2008
Have to say the same like the others of you - I really liked this book and finished it within 3 days - although I was reading some other stuff parallel :) I'm glad, the second book is here to and I think I'm going to start it the minute I'll finished this entry ;) I think I will look for the other books of Patricia Briggs as soon as my MTBR is done - if this will ever happen *grin*

Going to ship the two books as soon as I finished both :)

Soeben zur Hauspost gebracht :)

Journal Entry 15 by Schneefee from Hagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Thursday, May 15, 2008
yeah, well done, rotewoelfin :-/
you made me really curious by you enconium via PM, so I skimmed through this on the way back home - and you got me hooked :-( Thaaaanks! A! Lot! When exactly do you think I could ever finish "World without end" (which has been my birthday-present in december), hm?
;-)

Journal Entry 16 by Schneefee from Hagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Sunday, May 25, 2008
I ab-so-lute-ly loved it, too! Luckily "Blood Bound" was already here to start right after finishing this one.

Mercy is one of the most charming heroines I've read about for a looong long time, if not ever. I love her addiction to old cars (even if I prefer Land Rovers ;-)) and her permanent struggle to stay independent from her good-looking Alpha neighbour or her handsome dominant puppy love... and, to tell the truth, I'm actually waiting for the smart vampire to join the club of her admirers.

Another thing I liked was the use of German words by Zee, although they sometimes were quite strange to me: e.g. "Metallzauber" or "Schwarzenwald" instead of "Metallzauberer" (I think the author meant a magical person being able to mess around with metal and technical things?) and "Schwarzwald"... or the frequent use of "Liebchen" - that's soooo cute, I haven't heard "Liebchen" for quite a while! But it's absolutely authentic if Zee had lived here at Rhine and Ruhr once. Lovely. If I could rate 11 out of 10, I'd do it.

I will definitely buy my own copies of these for keeping them safe on my shelf and reading again.

But there is one thing I did pity: Mac dying at the beginning of the book. I had just started to like him :-(
I dislike a bit the cover making the books look "cheaper" than they are. Besides... Mercy's Tattoos definitely change from book to book. Coyote-Magic? ;-)

Journal Entry 17 by ekaterin4luv from Nürnberg, Bayern Germany on Sunday, July 13, 2008
Ah, even reading it for a second time didn't lessen the fun of sassy Mercy. Thank you for sharing these two books.

Arrived in the morning with the usual post! Thank you anana3322 for sending and Sao-Diego for the Ring. Looking forward to read it, but first there's another ring-book to be read.

Journal Entry 23 by sternenwolf from Steffenberg, Hessen Germany on Sunday, July 19, 2009
Finished the book yesterday eve', loved it and started reading of Blood Bound immediately afterwards. The story is stirring, exciting and highly addictive. Briggs created a world full of preternatural creatures like werewolves, walkers, Metallzauber (or gremlins which Zee prefere), witches and vampires. Mercy is very likeable and the other characters, which Briggs invented are also. I liked it so much that I'm going to buy my own copy of Moon Called and the sequels... :)
Thanks for this great ring!

Journal Entry 27 by J-sama from Leipzig, Sachsen Germany on Saturday, December 12, 2009
Finished with part one and I hardly set it dow. Yesterday I spent the whole afternoon reading, because I wanted to know hoe it is going to end. And I am positively suprised, after unpacking I thought, well another one of those Vampire/Werewolfe-Stories. There are quite a lot on the Marekt now - but this one was refreshingly different. I liked it quite a lot. And Mercys offbeat and mouthy character is quite entertaining. The only thing that could have used a bit more investigation are the somehow strange German word Zee uses - especially when the author has a degree in German, as it is written on the last page.
But all in all a very well and enthralling written book. Luckily, the second part is already here :)
Thank you for sharing
