From the back cover:-
'The floor groaned as my uninvited guest stepped inside. With him came a gust of cold air and the smell of the river. I saw a shadow pass my doorway. A big, black mass that had no shape, no definition. Yet I sensed his glance towards me...Then his footsteps carried him on, moving towards the back of the cottage, into silence.
Kate O'Hara rents an old stone cottage on the banks of a Tasmanian river to try to get some peace after the death of her husband, and to plan her future.
But there are mysterious footsteps in the night. The soft splash of oars on the river. An old picture of a boatman hanging on the cottage wall. And a rent in the fabric of time itself...'
More Australian (Tasmanian) history in this book-way more than Footsteps in an Empty Room!
This is another great Lilly Sommers Historical Ghosty Mystery...

Very excited to have received this book today after finishing Footsteps in an Empty Room just yesterday. Thanks Hearth-Crafter
Although it was a bit slow to start it was an interesting story. I think I was spoilt by Footsteps in an Empty Room ... this book does not pack the same punch in my opinion. A quick read at 217 pages it was nonetheless enjoyable and I've ordered a couple more of Lilly Sommers books from the library. Thanks Hearth-Crafter for sharing. Will post on to amberC today
Arrived safely today after bravely forging flooded rivers to get here.
An enjoyable read. I love Tasmania and the description of the river and the mountains took me back there.
Posting to freelunch tomorrow.

received today, thanks amberC and Hearth-Crafter :o)
I'm a little backlogged at the moment but I'll try not to sit on this book for too long.

a quick and enjoyable read - to be sent on with Footsteps in an Empty Room once I read it next week. Thanks again.
I started to read Kate O'Hara's story while we were waiting for our spaghetti bolognaise at the Deli Cafe in Margaret Street. oops! I left it there! I would like to say how well it has been looked after with the contact, Mrs ptm was very impressed. I'll no doubt be able to retrieve it from there and then I'll send on to Portugal in due course.
Ohh Yes Playtheman - I hope you can retrieve it.
I contacted the book myself before I sent it out - am training to be a Library Assistant and they teach you how to contact books hehe...oh by the way, thankx for your message telling me that my Kitty is cute - poor girl got attacked recently by 2 big dogs and is recovering from a broken jaw.

travelling by ship to Portugal. Plenty of interest, perhaps the ending a little unsatisfactory?
*When Shadows Fall* has been all the way to Portugal and now has arrived back here!
There is a postal notation at the end of
RUA DAVID hopes, No 27 -------> 27 ou 27??

This is a great book! Lilly Sommers is a great writer and she has lots of imagination :D
The book starts very slow, but then it picks up and you just can't stop reading!
There were parts that I thought I knew what was going to happen next... but I was wrong! :D This book is full of surprises ;)
I loved it! I believe I found a new author that I'll love :D
I already have Bookworm-lady's address, I'll send it as soon as possible :)
Thank you very much!

This one was OK - but I much prefered Footsteps in an Empty Room. This one was just a bit too much 'Mills and Boon' for me.
Thanks for sharing - its now on its way to Bug2004.

Re'cvd today! Will get to asap. Thanks!
This is a short book, but it took me a little while to get through it. I found it mildly interesting. It's a great story idea, but I'm not sure the idea was allowed to flourish. I liked it in the beginning, got a little bored in the middle and enjoyed the end.
Overall, glad I got to read it and wouldn't consider it a waste of time!! Thanks so much for sharing. I have a few more pages in "Footsteps In An Empty Room" and will then send them both off this weekend. Thanks again!!

Received this book in the mail today, but I just started another "ring" book. This one and its traveling partner will have to wait for a little bit.
I read this a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. This author's style of suspense writing is very well crafted. I didn't want to put the book down.
The book is continuing its journey along with its traveling companion "Footsteps in an Empty Room".

Received the book today and will probably read it before Footsteps in an Empty Room, after reading the JEs here ;-)
When I wrote that I'd read it before Footsteps in an Empty Room I wasn't really intending to read this one the same night, but that's what happened ;)
It was a nice, short read - but sometimes so short that it felt abridged and as if something was missing.
I just started Footsteps in an Empty Room and like it better already after the first few pages, just because it is more detailed or descriptive.

Wow, this is a well travelled book! :-)
Now it's at its Bavarian station and will be soon read!
thanks!

thanks!
I have to admit that I also read it nearly in one night :-)
And contrary to the other JE's here I liked it a lot. The idea was fascinating and reminded me a bit
of 'Mariana'...
I agree that it was somewhat short and I wonder
Spoiler in white:
I do wonder though how Kate will adapt to her new life... after all she's been born into a modern world and has to do now without all its amenities...
That would be interesting.. will she tell Thomas where she came from?
Anyway, I have asked Sarahmuh for her address!

Received today. Thank you!
I liked this book! It's not something I would typically read but it was a cute story and the ending was not what I expected and I still can't seem to get my head around how the whole situation at the end would "work" if she was from the present but went to the past and stayed...but I know it's just a story :)
