2 journalers for this copy...
I was given this book by my Secret Pal at work in December. I read it on my cruise on the Diamond Princess. I thought it was a very good read!I thought the Alaska stuff was interesting, since I was just there, and I thought the turmoil the family went through was very well described.

Well written coming of age novel. Communication is so important. Look for the little things. Children grow up, but still need involvement and guidance. The distress of the family and the effect of peer pressure was well described. It lets one draw their own "lessons". For me, honesty is so important. One things tends to lead to another. Fortunately, not all consequences are harsh as these were.
I enjoyed reading about Alaska as we had just visited there about 10 months earlier. It is beautiful there, but much different then the lower 48.
I found the book in Michigan. I am going to release the book in Cincinnati, Ohio

I enjoyed the book. My husband saw it and he read it as well. He liked it also, possibly more then I did. Perhaps because it comes a lot from a male voice.
I am not passing this book on to another friend in Lamberville, Michigan.
I hope they enjoy the book and pass it along to others when they are done.
