To be released to a travelling friend on his way to St. Petersburg.
´Naked Lunch´ came into my hands through a good friend of mine who lives with his wife in Finnish Lapland. I was visiting them at the time (February 2007) and it was a bit cold up there -try minus 35 degrees Celsius...
I didn´t read it immediately as I had a pile of books to get through first. ´Naked Lunch´ has travelled with me from Finland to St. Petersburg (and then Moscow) in Russia, then to England, then to Scotland and Ireland, and finally here to Granada in Spain, where I am letting it go having just finished it.
´Naked Lunch´ is like no other book that you have read -a schizophrenic, twisted and perverse look at 1950s America, Mexico and Tangiers through the eyes of a junkie. I suspect it to be semi-autobiographical, knowing what I know about the author.
