From the Back Cover
In the bluestone caverns, deep under Masterbridge, someone was taking notice. It had been a long time since there was anything to notice, anything at all, but there was, imperceptibly, something there.
The yellow ridged fingernail reached out to swirl the inky, black water. With a sprinkle of chosen herbs the scene burst into life once again. The shrouded face watched intently as the picture cleared, expanded, shuddered and then settled down to admit the truth.....yes, she was coming.
Coven of One is the story of a simple Hedgewitch's journey into the furthest recesses of the darkest heart of the darkest demon. A story of spells and potions, imbued with Pagan magic.

Its hard to believe that this is a first book by the author as the prose and the characterisation flow. This is an enjoyable read.
Am going to offer this as a ring on BCUK.

Posted off to tehuti today.
I'm looking forward to reading this very much.
I'm so sorry riverwillow to have taken so long with this. I'm going through some difficult times at the moment and have neglected reading and Bookcrossing a lot I'm afraid.
I enjoyed this book and would definitely read a sequel. There are really only two things that slightly jar. Firstly, it seems the author is using the story line to get over basic information about Wicca and paganism, which is an excellent idea in principle. However, I found the delivery a little too didactic at times; the author broke the flow of the story in order to deliver a mini lecture on something or other. Secondly, I wish the ending had been less twee and more unconventional.

Whoops -- looks like I forgot to journal the receipt of this -- so sorry!
Try as I might, I could not get into this -- most likely because I kept stopping at all the Pagan/Wiccan references, and nitpicking them apart. That's not to say the author was necessarily wrong with her research, just that I (being a rather self-opinioned Witch with her own ways of doing things) would do things in a different way, and that kept bringing me up short. Rather than battle with this any more than I have already (given the amount of time I've had it!), I'll just send it along.
This will be going to RubyBlueLady as soon as I have the address.

It's now with me in pagany Avebury (what a shame I can't release it amongst the standing stones!).
I really wasn't sure about this at first but the book cast a spell on me (ha ha) and drew me in. I found myself really liking Dorcas and wanting her to succeed with the grumpy locals. I liked the humour, there were some laugh-out-loud moments for me, especially over Violetta, do you think she wears gingham knickers?
I'm really glad I signed up for this ring, I shall get in touch with perditaxknit and post this book on.

I adored this book :) At first I thought it was going to be a bit self-publishedy, but it completely drew me in to the story and I look forward to the sequel. Like Tehuti, I thought the ending could have been a little less twee but I still really enjoyed it!
Will send it back home to riverwillow asap!
