Book Description:

An orphan with no clan that will claim him, Wren Tigarian grew to adulthood under the close scrutiny and mistrust of those around him. A forbidden blend of two animals - snow leopard and white tiger - Wren has never listened to anyone when there was something he wanted. Now he wants Marguerite.

Marguerite D'Aubert Goudreau is the daughter of a prominents U.S. senator who hates the socialite life she's forced to live. Like her mother before her, she has strong Cajun roots that her father doesn't understand. Still, she has no choice but to try and conform to a world where she feels like an outsider. But the world of rich and powerful humans is never to meet the world of the Were-Hunters who exist side by side with them, unseen, unknown, undetected. To break this law is to call down the wrath of the high order.

In order to have Marguerite, Wren must fight not just the humans who will never accept his animal nature, but the Were-Hunters who want him dead for endangering their world. It's a race against time and magic without boundary that could cost Marguerite and Wren not just their lives, but their very souls...

I read this over the weekend and enjoyed the story. Wren is a neat character and I like how the books are not exactly the same 'formula' every time. It was good to read 'character build-up' and at the same time learn something about 2nd string players. Of course it is always good to meet new people, too.

LOL at my last journal entry, it's been well over a year! I must have exercised some self-discipline, because this would have been about number 50 on my TBR shelf when I received it. Anyway, it wasn't quite at the top of the pile yet but I decided to read it anyway. :) I'll edit when I've read it, and then hatch a plan for its continuing journey. :)

Hmmmmm. :) I enjoyed it, but I really feel every time I read a Dark-Hunter book that it's the same formula and I'd love a bit of variety. A book about a female Dark-Hunter would be awesome, for example. :D Formula: Moody, misunderstood, impossibly hunky immortal man meets beautiful girl-next-door. Instant attraction, forbidden hot sex. Crazy plot occurs, couple stay together against all the odds, they get it together properly. Fair nuff, I say.

Something I do like a lot about these books is the whole universe - it's an intricate fantasy world overlaid on our own, with lots of interacting characters who're consistent. When something crazy happens, the whole world responds to it realistically. That's why I keep reading them. :) I would be a lot more dedicated to them if it wasn't erotica-with-a-plot! :P Another thing I love is the fun conversations that take place.

Anyway, I realise that I've waffled a bit and it might be hard to fathom how I actually felt about the book. To summarise - it's formulaic, a leetle shallow (but not too much), and it's very... straight. But, I love it anyway because of the rich social aspects of the world.

I'm trying to set up a bookray, but it's looking like it'll just be a RABCK!

Thank you so much, Lemonitsa, I really enjoyed reading it. :)

RAY IT FORWARD!

It's a good method, because readers don't have to wait to read the book! If you're interested, this is how it goes.

  • If you want to read the book, PM the last person who journaled it to request it.
  • You will get the book in the mail/post, journal it promptly and read as soon as is reasonably possible.
  • Leave a journal entry telling us what you thought, and if there are any shipping preferences.
  • When someone else is interested, they will PM you and ask you to send it to them. Alternatively, if you want to get the book moving again, you can leave a Ray-it-forward post in the Bookrings forum.
  • NO wild releases or passing on to non-bookcrossers. Passing on to bookcrossers who agree to keep the ray going is fine. :)
  • Shameless plug: I list my books at the Bookring Directory!

Thank you! This book is first going out to Chucklesthescot.

I've tried reading a few different Dark Hunter novels but they just seem to be a bit samey and don't hold my attention for long. I thought I'd enjoy the book but her stories leave me thinking that I should've stuck with Kelley Armstrong or Laurell K Hamilton!

Sorry I took so long to read this. Nobody has requested it yet so I'll do a Ray it Forward Post on the forum.
