Time Cat: The Remarkable Journeys of Jason and Gareth

It's the easy way to learn World History.
This had especially pithy observations by Gareth. (Of course, a talking cat wouldn't waste his words!)
A very intriguing character, Diahan, reappears here and in other books by the same author (or so I'm led to understand by Amazon reviewers).
The tone grew darker and Jason's interests grew more mature as the book progressed -- people even died!
I loved this book and am looking forward to having some free reading time to enjoy Alexander's Iron Ring, set in India.

I have heard such wonderful things about this book. I'm just not sure how long I'll be able to bear having it languish in Mt. TBR.
Thanks so much, Megi!

I actually read this book last week on a night between two stressful days at work when I really just needed a little break.
Time Cat is a wonderful little story, which made me want to (re)read more of Lloyd Alexander's books. I particularly liked how Alexander worked traditional cat behavior into his fantasy.
I'm planning to put this book in the Teen Virtual Book Box ... though I think I may get r to read it before I do ;)
Update, 31 May 2007: No takers from the Teen VBB so this book is now available.

I apologize for the delay in making an entry. I received this book on 12 April 08 from morsecode at our meetup. I am placing it in my classroom for student use. Hopefully, we will have an OBCZ operating there soon after my district unblocks the bookcrossing website.
