I got this book because I have read and loved the authors other (adult) books. Specifically, the Dark Ones series (Beginning with A Girls Guide to Vampires). Maxwell writes paranormal and normal romance novels under the name Katie McAlister, and her stuffs not too bad. Hokey, as romance novels can be, but cute and typically good.
This book is basically a watered down version of her Dark One series, written for young girls.
By the time I got to this book I was out of the teen novel phase, and combining its young adult nature with Katie's attemptedly witty writing style and her average storyline, I wasn't too pleased with the whole story itself.
I thought it was very cute and had a cute story for a newcomer, but knowing just about everything that would happen, It didn't turn me on.
I would reccomend this to any younger girl looking for an almost grown up romance novel, because it is a good book, just not entirely my choice of reading for myself.
