Very much liked this one - it's up there with "Commitment Hour," my favorite Gardner book. I love the matter-of-fact way that sexuality gets treated here; multi-person marriages? attractions to same sex, opposite sex, other species? No problem, and just not an issue. The storyline is captivating, and he balances his tone well (some of his other books have a flippant tone that gets a bit irritating after a hundred pages or so). The League of Peoples is such an interesting notion, with its restrictions and powers - both benevolent and sinister at the same time. Anyway, this is a great read, and I'd highly recommend it.
Sending to PBS member in Nevada.
this one read more like a mystery - I believe I would've enjoyed it more if I'd been accustomed to reading crime dramas or whatever, and if I'd devoted bigger chunks of time to paying strict attention to it - did love the polyamorous marriage as I'm poly myself - highly recommended as are all Gardner's - I'm keeping them together to pass on as a set, probably via sf-books (not PBS :)
