This was my introduction to Bukowski. I got hooked on his style and witty comments immediately. I enjoy the vulgarity that permeates Bukowski's writing, but it could be considered offensive by many, especially members of the fairer sex. Others will be turned off by the weight of Hanks constant drinking. Those that aren't put off will read with an evil smirk on their faces and be subject to spontaneous laughter.

Seeing a wild book called "Women" I couldn't resist. I temporarily forgot there are men who like women, too. Then I noticed the author was a male. Well, I give it a shot, anyway I wanted to see what the Beehive Cafe was like.
Now that I have skimmed it, I think that I may not read it entirely, but when I am done I will return it to the Beehive as JRHMM intended.

The Beehive is no longer here, but there is a coffeeshop, and I will leave this book here about 2:30 today.

So I came across this book at Blend café on 24th & NE Burnside while checking out the titles on their little bookshelf and thought I'd play along, especially since I'd never read any of Bukowski's fiction...

I like the poetry a little bit better 'cos it strikes me as more honest and interested in using ugly to highlight beautiful.

I want this book to grow some serious legs, so I'm going to leave it on an Airport-bound MAX train.
