The third copy of the book and the one I actually read. Seems that people who read this book either loved it or hated it. I liked it. Stories are a big theme in this book and that is what this is a traditional story told orally by Vida Winter to her elected biographer Margaret. I love books with great characters and this book is full of them, their stories are revealed slowly which keep me turning the pages, I wanted to know the truth about all of them. For me any plot twists in this book were secondary it was all about the people and their truths. A caution that it does start out a little slow but give it some time for me it was pg 48 when I got hooked; "once upon a time there were twins..."

So well written, each word and sentence had to be read slowly for the total effect of the atmosphere- a bit thought provoking, but so very descriptive taking 3 weeks to read. It5 was hard to get started as allthe details built up, yet the story unfilled with with answers until the last chapters. It is worth reading. Page2Page
