a Christmas present from PrefersComics -thanks!

Just finished and can report it was standard Jodi Picoult unusual legal drama/family crisis/slight twist at end sort of stuff so if you've liked other things by her you'll like this too.

I'm going to try to organise one of those bookring things. Hope someone is interested...

I was gripped by this book. I wouldn't have picked it for myself but I'm pleased that I tried it. I loved the story and found it very easy to read. It has encouraged me to look for more Jodi Picolt books. Will be sending on to TutleyMutley.

Received safely, thanks Lucyc and Ozonenut. The book is looking like someone read it in the bath, though, - gently crinkled edges to the pages. T'wasn't me! (though it IS the sort of thing I might do, but not this time!).
I like Jodi Picoult, though she does write to a formula, it's a good one and she has interesting insights into human nature. I read the first chapter to this book at the end of 'The Pact' so this ring was very timely. I've several books ahead of it thought but I'll try not to keep it too long.

I have to admit that the crinkling was me. I got caught in a huge downpour on the way to work one morning and everything including all my clothes and the contents of my bag were soaked through.

I tried to dry the book out the best I could and I will be happy to replace it if it's too damaged :-)

It took me a while to get into this book - Picoult has a formula and this drama is no exception - but towards the end it gains momentum, and I really enjoyed the discussions on memory and perceptions and truth.
I'll be PMing Teachie next - cross fingers that it works as I've been having NIL results lately.

I am sure I did a journal entry for this book when it arrived because I remember reading about the crinkled state of the pages. However, it doesn't appear to be here.
Well what a wonderful book, I really enjoyed this story. I have read several of her books and now expect them to have twists and turns and I wasn't disappointed with this one. Memory is a funny thing and sometimes it works in weird ways. It all depends on how past actions are interpreted.

I will contact Vauxhallcrosser and get this off to her.

Received yesterday, thanks Teachie. My first instinct was that it had been read in the bath, but looking back at previous JEs, I see that I am wrong, but in good company for my assumption. I am inundated with rays and rings right now, but this will certainly be read in as good time as I can manage, before going on to Birmingham-rose, whose address I have written out a few times by now, and should know off by heart, :)
