Advanced Reader copy sent to me by my friend, bukwyrm, for review. After I read it I will pass to local friends to review before setting free.
It is about time that there are books for girls who want adventures. Just as I started reading this book I started watching "Underground Cities" (I think it is on National Geographics or is it History Channel?) Kirsten Miller relly shows the research she has done on this and other topics, slyly dropped into the story. In fact, if you need to learn even more about the book or underground cities she has set up http://www.kikistrike.com/ to learn more.
Since this is an Advanced Reading Copy I think I was rather annoyed by the mistakes that may not be in the ones for sale in book stores. Even still the story was fun. I liked it better than Harry Potter, for sure. I can hardly wait for the next book due in 2008!
Passing on to local family and friends before setting free.

Hmmm, thought I had journaled this. Just an FYI...I'm reading this now.
I really enjoyed the twists and turns this book took. Miller has developed a nicely complicated story with lots of adventure.
Being an ARC, there were a few times the errors were bothersome, but not enough to ruin the storyline.
I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for an interesting mystery/adventure story...and especially if they are looking for the main characters being girls.
I am holding this to hand back to Darsbooks as this is part of her permanent collection.

This has been given to Darsbooks to hand on to another reader.
Cute. Valuable because Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, et al are all males and these girls become richly developed young women, not just spunky sidekicks. I didn't quite love it enough to look for the next in the series or to push it on to my 12 yo son who has too tall of a TBR pile already.
Darsbooks has handed this back to me to release elsewhere or keep
To be released at the BookCrossing table at the Peace Fair at Wingfield Park during the hours of 11AM to 4PM
Fun and quick read! This was an ARC, so there were a few rough patches, but overall I enjoyed the book and the fact that the characters--all young girls--were smart and willing to have adventures.
This has been returned to me to find another reader

My daughter loves this series. Thank you for sharing it with us. It may never leave her bookshelf because she tends to want to hang onto books she loves, but we will definitely keep posted.
