Knots and Crosses. An Inspector Rebus Novel.
5 journalers for this copy...
One of my favorite series. I think this one is the first. PB, different cover.
Taken by another BookCrosser at our little lunch meeting today to greet a visitor from Texas.
I picked this up while visiting with some bookcrossers in the lowcountry of SC last week. I'm headed out of here today and realized I never logged these books! I plan to read some of these and release others at our local Austin meeting as well!

Detective John Rebus: His city is being terrorized by a baffling series of murders...and he's tied to a maniac by an invisible knot of blood. Once John Rebus served in Britain's elite SAS. Now he's an Edinburgh cop who hides from his memories, misses promotions and ignores a series of crank letters. But as the ghoulish killings mount and the tabloid headlines scream, Rebus cannot stop the feverish shrieks from within his own mind. Because he isn't just one cop trying to catch a killer, he's the man who's got all the pieces to the puzzle...
Knots and Crosses introduces a gifted mystery novelist, a fascinating locale and the most compellingly complex detective hero at work today.

I dunno about this book. It was okay and it was a quick little read, but I wanted to know more about the characters. I felt like they were under-developed... yet some things were over-descriptive, if that makes any sense. This is my first book by this author. I don't know if I'll go looking for more or not yet. It was good, just not great, but hey... it entertained me so.... :)
I'll be passing this along to someone soon.

Sending as a RABCK to msjoanna with another book. Maybe she''ll enjoy it!
This arrived as a surprise along with a book I was expecting from candieb. This isn''t my usual type of book, but it looks like a quick read and a couple of people have mentioned this author recently, so I may give this one a try. Thanks for the surprise!
I really enjoyed the characterizations of Edinburgh as much as I enjoyed the characters. I found the plot arc somewhat predictable, but enjoyed the book enough to want to read more of the Inspector Rebus series. Since I already have the second book in the series, I'll give that one a try and hope that I find the plot a bit less generic. I would have enjoyed more character development within the context of this novel, but I'm hoping that there will be more development as the series continues. I'm willing to give the author a chance since this was his first novel in the series.
I'll be sending this along to Tribefan, who picked it long ago from a VBB and has been ever so patient in waiting for me to finally read it.
