The Giant's House: A Romance
5 journalers for this copy...
Found at the used book shop. Planning to read for our latest book club selection for the beginning of Jan 2007.
Overall an interesting read... it went fast. But I am a sucker for a story with a librarian in it!
Story is about a young librarian who befriends a young boy who is a giant. The story covers several of the next years and how they interact in each other's lives.

Mailed out in "Current" Fiction Bookbox today!
Liberated from batty14's current fiction bookbox. Looks really interesting.
I fell in love with this book and these characters. The stars of this book will definitely stick with me for a long time. I thought the writing was emotionally honest and the characters displayed their flawed lives with vulnerability that rang true. I'm so glad I pulled this one from the box as I'd never heard of it before. I simply must pass this on so that others can enjoy it. I have some other bookboxes coming my way, so this may land in one of those. I'll have to look for McCracken's other books.
Reserved for trade with BethanieKay (mailed 3/9/07).

Received yesterday as a trade from msjoanna. Looks interesting! Thanks for the trade :)
I was looking for just the right book to send up to grubsneerg in Pennsylvania as part of a trade, and this one jumped out at me from my bookshelf. It seems this one might be in line with the other types of books she likes to read and release.
Thanks again, grubsneerg - your generosity in trading with me will not be forgotten! :)

Received this in the mail from BethanieKay today. Thank you for sharing it with me!
I started this book really liking the characters and hoping that they, and I, were in for a good story. It was a story that had many good points, but in the end, I didn't enjoy it as much as I was hoping to; to be honest, I think I recognized a little too much of myself in the spinster librarian who dislikes people but feels compelled to try to make them happy nonetheless.

RELEASE NOTES:
Left in a BookCrossing release bag propped up on a light pole in the parking lot.
Congratulations--you caught a book!
It may have seemed odd to find this lying around, but rest assured it's not lost and it's not forgotten. Feel free to read it, pass it on to a friend, or release it in the wild like I did. You can even keep it, if you like, but are books really happy when they're just sitting on a shelf? I'd have to say no.
If you are new to BookCrossing, welcome! Enjoy the site, the book and the BookCrossing community. It doesn't cost anything to join; it’s confidential (you are known only by your screen name and no one is ever given your e-mail address), free, and spam-free. If you do join, please consider using any journaler of this book, or me, grubsneerg, as the member who referred you.
If you are an old hand at BookCrossing, thanks for picking up the book! Either way, I hope you'll journal so all the previous and future readers can track this book's journey. Enjoy!
