I am a strong believer in trying something you would not be inclined to do normally, every once in a while, because prejudices need testing. And so I gave Diana Gabaldon a try. And well, prejudices sometimes can be reaffirmed. The first half was not bad. The main character travels back in time and that was kind of interesting. Gabaldon is one for details and was great for creating the historical backdrop. But towards the second half it started to get a little bit ridiculous and so I skipped to the end, which I found out is not a real end, because wouldn't you know it, this book is part of a series and the overly long story continues on. But don't take my word for it. You try it and see what to make of it. This item, I should add, comes from a book sharing carrel at the Legislative Library of Ontario. I just wanted something to read on my commute home during the summer when I worked there. It didn't make it back to the LLO but maybe it can keep traveling through bookcrossing. You decide.

I'm taking it back where I found it, the FIS bookcrossing shelf.
