The Kukatja people have a special relationship to the kingfisher -- why is that? This ancient story lovingly illustrated by schoolchildren will tell you.
A sweet book with a short and, by European standards, very accessible story.
Currently the only copy of this book registered in BookCrossing, by the way. :)

A beautiful story, and the pictures are lovely and fit in very well. I also liked the additional information at the end of the book.

A very nice book, I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for the Box. And the book stays in there for other Australia Fans.

Taken out of the Australia-bookbox; thanks!
Beautiful book for small children, explaining the Dreaming narrative of how the Kukatja people came to stay in Luurnpa's home or "country", as it is called in Aboriginal English, and why the Kingfisher is so important to them.
As it had been quite a long time on my shelf, I'm taking this book with me to the first meetup in the OBCZ in Aalen (OBCZ Kino am Kocher) on 28th December. Maybe somebody wants to read it.

I caught it at the bookcrossing meetup in Aalen (Germany) and will take it to Salt Lake City.
I just read this little book tonight and I really liked it. It reminded me of my time in Australia, the beautiful landscape, and the Aboriginal culture. And it also relates to a current problem - the severe drought in many parts of Australia.
Very nice!!
